Faith is not a License

Romans 3:21-26 (Contemporary English Version) Now we see how God does make us acceptable to him. The Law and the Prophets tell how we become acceptable, and it isn't by obeying the Law of Moses. God treats everyone alike. He accepts people only because they have faith in Jesus Christ. All of us have sinned and fallen short of God's glory. But God treats us much better than we deserve, and because of Christ Jesus, he freely accepts us and sets us free from our sins.

God sent Christ to be our sacrifice. Christ offered his life's blood, so that by faith in him we could come to God. And God did this to show that in the past he was right to be patient and forgive sinners. This also shows that God is right when he accepts people who have faith in Jesus.

If you are living without Jesus then you are unacceptable to God. If you have faith in Jesus then God accepts you however that does not give you freedom to go on sinning freely. Jesus died for payment of those sins and yet some take His sacrifice lightly and choose to go on sinning. Freedom from sin is not freedom to sin. Faith in Jesus is not a license to freely sin. Next time you consider saying, doing or even thinking something which God considers a sin remember that Jesus died to cover that sin with His blood.

Dear Heavenly Father, Help us to never take for granted Jesus’ death and Your forgiveness. Help us to treasure His sacrifice, in Jesus name, Amen.

Laugh

Psalm 126:2 (Contemporary English Version) We celebrated with laughter and joyful songs. In foreign nations it was said, "The LORD has worked miracles for his people."

Psalm 35:9-10 (The Message) But let me run loose and free, celebrating GOD's great work, Every bone in my body laughing, singing, "God, there's no one like you. You put the down-and-out on their feet and protect the unprotected from bullies!"

Proverbs 17:22 (Amplified Bible) A happy heart is good medicine and a cheerful mind works healing, but a broken spirit dries up the bones.

Sometimes we just need to laugh. It is not just okay but necessary for our physical health. I enjoy hanging out with my friends; we laugh often and hard. It is good for our soul to laugh so hard that tears flow. Look for the joy God sets before you, you do not need to be serious all the time, enjoy laughter.

Hear the Thunder

Joel 2:28-32 (Contemporary English Version) Later, I will give my Spirit to everyone. Your sons and daughters will prophesy. Your old men will have dreams, and your young men will see visions. In those days I will even give my Spirit to my servants, both men and women. I will work wonders in the sky above and on the earth below. There will be blood and fire and clouds of smoke. The sun will turn dark, and the moon will be as red as blood before that great and terrible day when I appear. Then the LORD will save everyone who faithfully worships him. He has promised there will be survivors on Mount Zion and in Jerusalem, and among them will be his chosen ones.

1 Kings 17:14 (Contemporary English Version) The LORD God of Israel has promised that your jar of flour won't run out and your bottle of oil won't dry up before he sends rain for the crops."

When you hear thunder you know that the rain is coming. First you see one or two drops then the clouds release the down pour. Even if you only see a drop or two do not give up, the anointing is here and it will not run dry. God is getting us ready for a spiritual down pour. Remember when a flood comes your way it will start with one drop of rain. Then when God chooses to He will pour out. It is time we get in line to receive what God wants to pour out. This is the time to make preparations, gather everything we can to hold all God allows, but also walk in the anointing now. Then when He pours out, we will be required to use what we get. Do not constantly take it in only but allow God to use you to pour out on others. If God blesses you then let God use you to bless others.

Living Life Loud

1 Peter 2:11-12 (The Message) Friends, this world is not your home, so don't make yourselves cozy in it. Don't indulge your ego at the expense of your soul. Live an exemplary life among the natives so that your actions will refute their prejudices. Then they'll be won over to God's side and be there to join in the celebration when he arrives.

The key to this passage for me is to always let others see you behaving properly. I do my best to present myself as Jesus with skin on. We are the only Jesus some people see. We cannot pay attention to what they may say or do because if they are speaking or acting out then we need to remember that Holy Spirit is working on them. Their actions are not against you but against God. When you see them doing those things know it really is not personally against you. Be faithful to the true teachings of the Bible. Live like they are captive in the world and you are trying to lead them out. They will not believe what you are telling them about Christ if they see you walking in sin. If you want someone to know Jesus then you cannot merely tell them they have to see you living like Him.

Deal With It

Matthew 6:14-15 (Amplified Bible) For if you forgive people their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive others their trespasses [their reckless and willful sins, leaving them, letting them go, and giving up resentment], neither will your Father forgive you your trespasses.

I thought I had forgiven a person but something happened yesterday that triggered an instant anger. God told me I had merely hidden that hate and not dealt with it. He told me, “Okay so this thing made you angry, now what are you going to do about it?” I have a choice I can remain angry and act on this anger which would hurt a lot of people but mostly my walk with God, or I could forgive them and let God handle them. I do not want to grieve the Holy Spirit so I am choosing to forgive. This is not easy especially when it comes to hurting our kids, but God wants us to understand that we did more to His Son, Jesus, because of our sins, than anyone will ever do to our kids but He still chose to forgive us. How can He forgive and fellowship with us when we are carrying around hate and unforgiveness refusing to do the same for others? Ask yourself, “is there anyone that because of your unforgiveness is keeping you from receiving from God.” Don’t let this come between you and God.

Free to Choose

Numbers 22:22 (New American Standard Bible) But God was angry because he was going, and the angel of the LORD took his stand in the way as an adversary against him. Now he was riding on his donkey and his two servants were with him.

God had told Balaam not to go to curse Israel, but Balaam chosen to go anyway. God was angry at Balaam; God tells us not to do certain things but He also gives us the freedom to make the choice to obey. With obedience comes blessings, with disobedience comes curses the choice is our too make.

Ephesians 2:1-5 (Contemporary English Version) In the past you were dead because you sinned and fought against God. You followed the ways of this world and obeyed the devil. He rules the world, and his spirit has power over everyone who doesn't obey God. Once we were also ruled by the selfish desires of our bodies and minds. We had made God angry, and we were going to be punished like everyone else. But God was merciful! We were dead because of our sins, but God loved us so much that he made us alive with Christ, and God's wonderful kindness is what saves you.

You are free to choose, but the choice you make will have either blessings or curses attached to it. Do not waste time making a choice which you will regret.

You are Loved

Psalm 23 (Contemporary English Version) You, LORD, are my shepherd. I will never be in need. You let me rest in fields of green grass. You lead me to streams of peaceful water, and you refresh my life. You are true to your name, and you lead me along the right paths. I may walk through valleys as dark as death, but I won't be afraid. You are with me, and your shepherd's rod makes me feel safe. You treat me to a feast, while my enemies watch. You honor me as your guest, and you fill my cup until it overflows. Your kindness and love will always be with me each day of my life, and I will live forever in your house, LORD.

God loves you. He sent His Son, Jesus to die, so you could live forever with Him. You are valuable to Him.

Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You for choosing me. There are times when I feel like a no body, unimportant, but You gently remind me how much You love me. You never stop loving me. Your word reminds me that You loved me before I was born and like any proud dad You knew everything about me. As I grew You were there cheering in my victories and comforting in failures. You guide me through rough times; You have prepare for me to find rest. I know that one day because I accepted that Jesus Your son died for my sin I will live forever with You in Heaven. You are awesome, thank You for Loving me that much; in Jesus name I pray, amen.

“Jesus loves me this I know for the Bible tells me so, little ones to Him belong they are weak but He is strong, Yes Jesus loves me, Yes Jesus loves me, Yes Jesus loves me the Bible tells me so.”
