Daniel 2:46-49 (The Message) When Daniel finished, King Nebuchadnezzar fell on his face in awe before Daniel. He ordered the offering of sacrifices and burning of incense in Daniel's honor. He said to Daniel, "Your God is beyond question the God of all gods, the Master of all kings. And he solves all mysteries, I know, because you've solved this mystery." Then the king promoted Daniel to a high position in the kingdom, lavished him with gifts, and made him governor over the entire province of Babylon and the chief in charge of all the Babylonian wise men. At Daniel's request the king appointed Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego to administrative posts throughout Babylon, while Daniel governed from the royal headquarters.
Do not chase fame and fortune. Daniel did not chase the praises of the king. Daniel prayed, trusted God and became a willing vessel for God’s service. God received the praises of King Nebuchadnezzer because through Daniel had made recognition of the source of the dream and the interpretation. When Daniel submitted in obedience and gave all the glory to God, then God lifted him to a place of honor. We must always pray, trust God and become a willing vessel for God to use for His glory; that is all that matters.

Pray for Your Children
Psalm 66:19-20 (Amplified Bible) But certainly God has heard me; He has given heed to the voice of my prayer. Blessed be God, Who has not rejected my prayer nor removed His mercy and loving-kindness from being [as it always is] with me.
Since my kids are now grown they have begun revealing stories of their antics from their childhood. I can do nothing now to prevent those episodes or even punish them. It causes me to realize no matter how protective I was that I could not be there for them all the time. It is never too late to pray for your children. They are never too old to need prayer. They are never too far gone for God to reach. No matter what your relationship is with your children, pray for them. No matter how right their life seems to be, pray for them. No matter their age, pray. We may think we know our kids but only God really knows their relationship with Him. Only God knows what trials they may be facing, pray for their endurance. Only God knows their future and present health, pray for them. We all make bad decisions that will cost us later, pray for their judgment. We cannot be with our kids to protect them but God can. There is much in our kids lives that we will never know and certainly cannot prevent, but God knows and can be there.

Respect
Leviticus 19:8 (Contemporary English Version) In fact, you will be punished for not respecting what I say is holy, and you will no longer belong to the community of Israel.
Songs have been written about respect, R-E-S-P-E-C-T, “I want a little respect when you get home.” It seems that those who are the most vocal to demand respect are often the least deserving of it. Most people earn the respect given to them, a few people are in positions which we respect. The meanings of respect: to have admiration, high opinion, esteem, reverence, place value, revere, think a lot of, look up to, admire, appreciate, show consideration for, follow, comply with, obey. We all would like to be respected. Respect has two distinct attitudes; one is given freely, the other is enforced. The scriptures tell us to respect-our parents, the things God called Holy, the elderly, the Sabbath and to respect God. Many people have neglected to respect anything or anyone including God and the average Christian has followed this trend. By failing to respect we are losing our nation. We need to get back to respecting what God told us to respect.

Barren or Bearing
Mark 11:13-14 (New International Version) Seeing in the distance a fig tree in leaf, he went to find out if it had any fruit. When he reached it, he found nothing but leaves, because it was not the season for figs. Then he said to the tree, "May no one ever eat fruit from you again." And his disciples heard him say it.
Jesus knew it was not the season for fruit to be on that tree but He had the power to force that tree produce it’s fruit. Instead He chose to allow that tree to operate in the natural where it remained barren. In this story the fig tree represented Israel and they chose to operate in the natural and remained barren, in fact in this story the tree withered away. Are you bearing fruit? You should be bearing fruit in all seasons.
Psalm 1:3 (Amplified Bible) And he shall be like a tree firmly planted [and tended] by the streams of water, ready to bring forth its fruit in its season; its leaf also shall not fade or wither; and everything he does shall prosper [and come to maturity].
Jeremiah 17:7-8 (The Message) "But blessed is the man who trusts me, God, the woman who sticks with God. They're like trees replanted in Eden, putting down roots near the rivers—Never a worry through the hottest of summers, never dropping a leaf, Serene and calm through droughts, bearing fresh fruit every season.

Walking in Obedience
Philippians 1:22-26 (The Message) As long as I'm alive in this body, there is good work for me to do. If I had to choose right now, I hardly know which I'd choose. Hard choice! The desire to break camp here and be with Christ is powerful. Some days I can think of nothing better. But most days, because of what you are going through, I am sure that it's better for me to stick it out here. So I plan to be around awhile, companion to you as your growth and joy in this life of trusting God continues. You can start looking forward to a great reunion when I come visit you again. We'll be praising Christ, enjoying each other.
Are you facing some decisions? Let me try to help you sort through a few things.
First I need to lay down the decision on the altar, it does not matter if this is what you want or do not want. Ask God for understanding of His will in this situation.
Next reach into your heart, is this something God has placed in your heart, did He place a vision or dream that this thing will help or hinder you from reaching what God has laid on your heart? Be truthful with yourself, you are not walking in God’s will if you try to boost yourself or force yourself ahead of God’s will.
Next really look at the situation objectively, is this the place God wants me to be at? Satan knows what God has called you to and he will try to divert you from the path God has for you by dangling bait that feeds your ego and prevents you from walking where God wants you to. Next seek out Godly advice from your spouse, family and friends. If they are not walking with God then how can they know the will of God, this needs to be people who really pray and will speak out God’s will rather than what they want.
Next examine how this will affect not just you but your family. When you are walking in obedience then you will be in God’s hands where He offers protection and provisions for you and your family.
Ultimately this is your decision but if you do not choose the path God has for you He will remove His protection and provisions and you will hinder God’s plan. Now I pray that your eyes be opened so that all will be clear, in the name of Jesus.
