Sabbitical

James 5:16 (Amplified Bible) Confess to one another therefore your faults (your slips, your false steps, your offenses, your sins) and pray [also] for one another, that you may be healed and restored [to a spiritual tone of mind and heart]. The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].

First I would like to say that I am in Branson and internet is way too expensive for me to access everyday here so I am taking a sabbatical from the devotional until July 6th when I get back to civilization. I am borrowing someone’s computer and aircard right now. We thought I could find at least one place that would have free access but at $40 for 3 days and $70 for the week it was just too much. I love you guys and will be praying for you all. Please keep our friend Dennis in prayer he has been having some major setbacks. No new news on Jerry the instructor. We are ministering as we travel and this has been great but please keep us in prayer for travel mercies and for God to be glorified in everything we say and do. Remember to pray and read your Bible daily and then do what it says.

Love and God Bless,
Cindy Irwin

Awesome Gifts

1 Kings 4:29 (Contemporary English Version) Solomon was brilliant. God had blessed him with insight and understanding.

God asked Solomon what he would want and he requested wisdom in order to lead Israel. God granted him wisdom.

1 Corinthians 12:4-11 (Contemporary English Version) There are different kinds of spiritual gifts, but they all come from the same Spirit. There are different ways to serve the same Lord, and we can each do different things. Yet the same God works in all of us and helps us in everything we do. The Spirit has given each of us a special way of serving others. Some of us can speak with wisdom, while others can speak with knowledge, but these gifts come from the same Spirit. To others the Spirit has given great faith or the power to heal the sick or the power to work mighty miracles. Some of us are prophets, and some of us recognize when God's Spirit is present. Others can speak different kinds of languages, and still others can tell what these languages mean. But it is the Spirit who does all this and decides which gifts to give to each of us.

There are different gifts which given to us as believers. These gifts are for furthering the kingdom. Each of us have talents which God has given us, the gifts and talents are to be used for increasing the kingdom and edifying the saints. These gifts are available to all and are valuable for us in service to the Lord. If you ask, God will not deny these gifts. He wants us to ask for these gifts so that He may receive glory. I ask all gifts for me but especially discernment, faith and prophecy but you may need other gifts to enhance your calling or service.

1 Corinthians 14:1 Follow the way of love and eagerly desire spiritual gifts, especially the gift of prophecy.
