Cistern or Vessel

Psalms 126: 4-6 And now, GOD, do it again, bring rains to our drought-stricken lives So those who planted their crops in despair will shout hurrahs at the harvest, So those who went off with heavy hearts will come home laughing, with armloads of blessing.

God has done it before and He will do it again. He had brought Israel through times of drought and famine to blessings and harvest. The church has been in drought and famine long enough it is time for us to repent and call on God to bring us rain. We have been dry so long that we accept it as normal but God has more. The heavens have shut because we hoarded until we became stagnant. The difference between a cistern and a vessel is a cistern is made to store liquid and a vessel is meant for transporting liquid. We have become cisterns hoarding until we become stagnant. God never meant for us to keep His Word and His blessings to ourselves. It is time to cleanse our spirit and become vessels, allowing God to use us.

2 Timothy 2:21 (Amplified Bible) So whoever cleanses himself [from what is ignoble and unclean, who separates himself from contact with contaminating and corrupting influences] will [then himself] be a vessel set apart and useful for honorable and noble purposes, consecrated and profitable to the Master, fit and ready for any good work.
